Our History
The Redwood Area Hockey Association was founded in the mid-1980s, when a small group of families introduced youth hockey to Redwood Falls. What started with an outdoor rink at Tyson Park, used boards, and simple facilities quickly grew as community support and participation increased.
In 1999, local voters approved the construction of the Redwood Area Community Center, and in 2000 the Association moved into its indoor home—marking a major step forward for the program. High school hockey followed in 2005–2006 with the creation of Redwood Valley, now a cooperative program with BOLD, Cedar Mountain, and Springfield.
Today, the Association serves more than 125 players ages 3–18, continuing a strong tradition of community, development, and a love for the game.
