Practices

Teams practice 2-3 times per week. Practice schedule will be finalized approx. two weeks prior to start of season.

Games

Our teams compete in Minnesota Hockey District 4 league play with scheduled home and away games throughout the season. Some levels may also pair with District 9 for league competition. In addition to league play, teams will participate in games and tournaments against appropriately matched Minnesota Hockey sanctioned programs.

Jerseys & Equipment

Game jerseys will be provided to each player for the season and must be returned at the end of the year. Players are responsible for providing all required hockey equipment and safety gear, including a mouthguard and neck laceration protection. Redwood Area Hockey Association also offers an equipment rental program for younger players; however, families are still responsible for supplying skates and sticks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are payment plans available?

Yes. Redwood Area Hockey Association offers payment plan options during registration to help make hockey more affordable for families. Please contact the association if you have questions or need additional arrangements.

What volunteer requirements do families have?

RAHA is a volunteer-run organization and relies on families to help throughout the season. Each family is required to complete volunteer hours by helping with games, tournaments, fundraising events, concessions, and other association activities.

How do "Volunteer" hours work?

Volunteer opportunities are posted through the online system throughout the season. Families can sign up for available shifts online. Any unfulfilled volunteer hours at the end of the season may be billed at the association’s current hourly rate.

What does my child need for their first practice?

Players should arrive dressed with all required hockey equipment, including skates, helmet with facemask, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, neck laceration protection, mouthguard, stick, and athletic supporter/jill. Players should also bring a water bottle and arrive early enough to get dressed before practice begins.
